Presidents on parade

By TBO.COM | Staff

Get yourself a quick history lesson at the C-SPAN Interactive "American Presidents: Life Portraits," a traveling exhibit that has been in the center of the WestShore Plaza this summer.

All 43 presidents, from George Washington to Barack Obama, were painted by Belgium-born artist Chas Fagan, who has been a portrait artist, landscape painter and sculptor for more than 20 years.

Accompanying each portrait is a brief history of the man and what was accomplished during his presidency. There are audio recordings dating to President Taft. You can hear Franklin D. Roosevelt give one of his "fireside chats" or hear Ronald Reagan's 1984 D-Day anniversary address, or listen to President Richard Nixon's "I am not a crook" speech.

The exhibit runs through Aug. 27.
