On the evening of November 23, 2012, the gazebo in Battleship Park will have a beautiful glow thanks to Downtown Business Alliance and the donation of lights from Costco. December 1, 2012, the Ship will reflect the holiday spirit from bow to stern on the ?up and over? line, lights will be strung and create an amazing picturesque view from downtown Wilmington.
Before the lights come on in the evening, visit the Ship?s Store for unique collectibles and stocking stuffers. Exclusive items such as a model of the NORTH CAROLINA, cannot be found anywhere else. The Christmas Corner offers ornaments and other holiday related items and with gifts as low as $.99 it is a must stop and see.? Get a jump on your shopping even before Black Friday, as the Ship and Gift Shop both open at noon on Thanksgiving. Parking is always ample and free.? The Battleship NORTH CAROLINA is self-supporting, not tax supported and relies primarily upon admissions to tour the Ship, sales in the Ship?s Store, donations and investments.
